About me…
I started practicing yoga 4 years ago and I love it!
Yoga helped me ground myself, calm my mind and be able to cope better with the everyday stresses and challenges I was facing. It was the best gift I could have given myself. I feel physically and mentally stronger which has improved my overall wellbeing.
In October 2023, I had a fall, it was a shocking experience! Luckily, my strong body was able to bounce back up with barely a scratch or a bruise. So grateful that my regular yoga practice saved my body from injury.
In March 2024, I completed a 200-hour Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training and qualified as a Yoga Teacher. Now is the beginning of my yoga teaching journey where I hope to share my love of yoga with kindness, compassion and respect. I am passionate about community and want to make yoga accessible to as many people as possible.
Whether it’s for fitness and exercise, strength and balance, breathwork, improving posture, or just an hour to yourself where you do something just for you, come and join me, discover your body’s potential and see what yoga can do for you.
As your yoga teacher, it is not my job to impart ‘knowledge’ – that is not the goal. My job is to show you how and where to safely place your foot or your hand and encourage you to bring your awareness to that moment and connect with yourself; all you need to do is show up and be present.
Breathe and stand tall my friends.
With love and light,
Ruth

The Sanskrit word ‘yuj’ means to yoke, to join, to merge, to blend, to unite.
Yoga helped me connect to the world around me and fired up a desire to bring people together. The idea of unity is what motivates me to teach yoga in the community, especially to those who have never tried it. My intention is to offer community yoga that is accessible and affordable for all.
BODY – flexibility, more energy, fitness, increased strength, improved breathing, pain relief, better sleep, improved balance and mobility
MIND – calmness, stillness, clarity, stress relief, kindness and compassion to others, focus, improved concentration and improved mental health
SPIRIT – connection to the earth, purpose, confidence and wellness
“Yoga is the ability to direct the mind exclusively toward an object and sustain that direction without any distractions.” The Heart of Yoga, Developing a Personal Practice, T.K.V Desikachar
We can’t always focus completely. The mind can have thoughts coming in, however fleeting, the mind fluctuates. We experience our lives primarily through our minds. We believe what our minds are telling us is the truth when sometimes it’s not and this can trigger us into believing it is fact, sometimes spiralling out of our control. Despite this, our pursuit of happiness is always there. Yoga can help, enabling us to turn our pain and suffering into happiness, joy, pleasure and comfort. By building our strength, allowing us to think more clearly and taking back our power, the practice of yoga through movement, breathing and stillness can help to eliminate the untruths.
Vinyasa is a continuous, unbroken flow of movement which links to the breath, our intention and our gaze, mirroring how the world fluctuates, “we move like the sun.”
In yoga there is no belief. It is an experiential set of practices with a set of results, with no judgement or hierarchy.
